TurtleFest 2009 Poster Contest

This illustration is titled "Sea Of Dreams". It was chosen as a finalist for TurtleFest 2009 Poster Contest. It will be on exhibition from February 2 to March 7 along with nine other artists at the Lighthouse Center for the Arts in Tequesta, Florida. The winner will be chosen by the public and will be announced on March 5, 2009 from 5:30-7:30pm. It's a very cool event to promote conservation of Florida’s coastal ecosystem and marine life.
Check it out!

Still here!

Hi everyone!
I know. I haven't post anything in a while, I apologize. I just realized that my last post was for Halloween, ...sorry:/ This new year has started at full speed for me with work (I can't complain, though) not only with my regular job, but with some freelance design. I will start posting again as soon as possible with more sketches and some of the work I'm doing right now. I'm working to have my website finally up, heading to New York this week to attend ToyFair 2009 where I'll be meeting with some friends that are developing some really cool Urban Vinyl toys with my designs, plus some art shows and more so... Stay tune!
Thank you all for your comments and for keeping up with my blog.
Cheers!

Avance.

Hey all!
Here is my piece for the political art show at TATEs. I wanted to do something related to Cuba, my country of origin and the totalitarian communist regime that unfortunately still rule there. I centered my design in the lack of freedom and the ideological apparatus from the former Soviet Union. I'm very happy with the "In your face" denounce of the illustration. I will post photos of the show in the upcoming days.

Art Show.

Wow! I've been slammed with so much work lately, yet there is always some break for an art show. Tate's Comics is having an exhibition in October with the work of several artists along the state. Here is the flyer with some of the collaborator's names. Mark the day and stop by if you are in town around those days. Tate's is one of, if not, the best comic books shop I have ever been to. They have an awesome selection for everybody's fondness and they are always supporting and promoting the art movement in our town.
Go Tate!
I will post my illustration soon.
