These sketches are part of a personal project I’ve been planning to do. The characters are inspired on Tove Jansson’s world of the Moomin book series. As a child, I loved the stories and the pictures illustrated by the author with all kind of creatures. I wanted to create my own version of the characters without altering too much the original design by Tove and perhaps do a graphic novel for children and young adults.

White Rose.

A friend asked me to do an illustration for a children's book she's writing about a girl whose feelings were frozen by a spell inside a white rose. Hope the book will see the light soon!

Cabeza de León!

Here's my design for Lion-O that I did for Zing Monkey. They wanted a more modern stylized animated version for a pitch they did to Warner Brothers. My good friend Joe Amaro designed that killer background. He will be having a custom figure panel this year at San Diego's Comic Con. Check it out!

Here is a sketch of the character I'm using for a card I'm working on to celebrate Summer's arrival. I like mythology and folklore and the satyrs are one of my favorites.
